On Saturday 27th September 2008 the 189th NSW West Tamworth Company held a 125th Anniversary Celebration Dinner and Fun Night in the Tamworth Presbyterian Church hall. Over 135 guests enjoyed reminiscing with past and present officers, Boys, parents and supporters of the Company and enjoying a continuous slide show of photos, memorabilia and information from the Company's 38 year history. Special guests were past BBA president Mr John Gowman who spoke about his memories and experiences with Boys' Brigade in the past and Rev. David Seaman from the 75th NSW Armidale Company who spoke about Boys' Brigade in the present and future. Mr Alan Zana also brought greetings from Boys' Brigade NSW.
Mr Gowman cut the anniversary cake with one of the Company's current youngest members.
George and Noelle Brook were especially honoured and thanked for their tireless dedication to the Company. George has been the company captain for the past 35 years with Noelle right next to him all the time.
As part of the nights entertainment the Anchors and Juniors presented an BB Anniversary song that they wrote themselves to the tune of Jingle Bells, while section 2 presented an item by their drum band. All current Boys', Officers and helpers were also presented with a BB 125th Anniversary badge by Mr Gowman.
The company has produced Boys' Brigade 125th Anniversary coffee mugs that were available for sale on the night as well.
A large banner advertising Boys Brigade has been donated to the company and as well as being on display for the night has had pride of place hanging across Peel Street, the main street of Tamworth.
Newspaper articles on Boy's Brigade in Tamworth, George and Noelle Brook and the Anniversary Dinner have also been published by the Northern Daily Leader, the Tamworth Regional daily newspaper.
