The award previously known as ‘Private First Class’ has been changed to the ‘Sir William A Smith award’. 

This change recognises that the achievement is a significant award of recognition for a member on a progressive path towards the highest award; The Queen’s Badge.

The award will no longer be a blue lanyard with the title of PFC but will be represented by the presentation of an impressive bronze badge (pictured) presented at a suitable ceremony by a state BB representative.

The badge is to be worn on the left arm band; centred at the bottom between any Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Pentapac Badge and under the Queens Badge.
